Antwep Art Weekend Closing Party at Duende Art Projects

May 29, 2022 (18:00 – 21:00)
Zwartzusterstraat 25, 2000 Antwerpen

Private Art Tours and Duende Art Projects celebrate the closing of Antwerp Art Weekend with a beautiful garden reception. After visiting the new exhibition ‘Unsettled’, you are welcome to join us for the evening reception and reflect on what promises to be a vibrant and fascinating weekend. Participating artist Mulegeta Tafesse will join the visitors in a dialogue about his work and participation at ‘Unsettled’.

“Unsettled” is an ode to restlessness. What are people if they are not always striving to be a better version of themselves? Restless souls are invariably in motion, stretching themselves – and with them others – in an active pursuit of intangible aspirations. This constant pursuit may be accompanied by a passionate desire to give expression to this restless state.

After the successful opening exhibition “Threads”, Duende Art Projects hopes with “Unsettled” to move and inspire its audience to perceive art from the African continent in new ways.

“Unsettled” will present an innovative juxtaposition of both anonymous classic works from the African continent, and new works by cutting edge contemporary artists such as Beatrice Wanjiku, Tuli Mekondjo, Tewodros Hagos, Mulugeta Tafesse, Mostaff Muchawya, Admire Kamudzengerere, Aime Mpane and Thierry Oussou.
